Lavaterhaus uses line source system with special brackets
The historic Lavaterhaus, which is a listed building, is located in the middle of Zurich’s old town, on the most beautiful square in the city and under the largest clock face in Europe. Since 2012, the Lavaterhaus has housed an extensive Johann Caspar Lavater collection, which provides insights into the life and work of this reformed Swiss pastor, philosopher and writer, who was networked throughout Europe.
In the historic center of Zurich you will find the Lavaterhaus, a modern house with tradition, charm and style. The property is managed by the Protestant Reformed Parish of St. Peter. The building and its extensions have been rebuilt and extensively renovated several times in recent years; In its current form, it is a testimony to the living culture of the time with corresponding temporal adjustments. The modern infrastructure makes the historic hall the perfect location for every occasion and offers enough space, for example, for concert seating or table arrangements.
In 2017, the parish commissioned a partner from the company promedias AG to realise a suitable solution for music and speech reproduction in the hall, which is clad with wooden panels. After numerous attempts, the choice ultimately fell on the line source system “TouringStick” from our company. This elegant speaker is a compact two-way column, equipped with 4x 6.5″ low-midrange neodymium drivers and 3x 1″ neodymium compression drivers. With its special radiation behavior, the required exact coverage and significantly reduced reflection in the room were achieved. The result was a sound quality in the Lavater Hall that impressively reflects an audibly balanced sound result combined with very high speech intelligibility.

The fact that the hall is a listed building and that the loudspeakers could only be attached to the ceiling using special brackets was a decisive advantage when choosing the provider.
