Sound reinforcement in sports halls with 15″ installation speakers
The Kantonsschule Zürcher Unterland is a school in Bülach, Switzerland. In 2021, the company promedias AG was commissioned by a partner to overhaul the sound system in the four gymnasiums and equip them with a new sound system and voice alarm system.

However, Chris Steiger and his team can rely on many years of experience when it comes to “sound reinforcement in sports halls”. The know-how of the Schweitzer colleagues is enormous and is successfully reflected in major projects such as the BBC Arena (handball stadium in Schaffhausen), the Letzigrund athletics stadium and the swissporarena football stadium in Lucerne. As used in the major projects mentioned above, the installation loudspeakers from the i.Flex series were also used in the gymnasiums of the cantonal school series two i.Flex 15.1s loudspeaker were installed in each of the four gymnasiums:
i.Flex speakers can be used without a controller
The 15″ installation speaker is a 2-way full-range speaker for permanent installations, which is controlled via a built-in passive crossover. The speaker is equipped with a direct-radiating neodymium low-midrange speaker and a 1″ neodymium compression driver with a rotatable CD horn. The 75°x50° horn has a square opening and can be rotated through 90°. For applications that require an extended frequency response in the low frequency range, various bass systems are available depending on the level requirements. Distances of up to approx. 20 meters are easily bridged by the i.Flex 15.1. And the speaker does not require a controller due to its linear tuning. Optionally, the installation loudspeakers can be converted with a 100 volt transformer (ELA technology) and, upon customer request, can also be delivered in an special paint finish.
Brackets and special solutions – no problem for us
Thanks to the universal mounts; Both horizontal brackets and rotatable 3D brackets from our standard range of accessories were used here, making it easy to mount on walls.
